About the Event

We will enjoy the flavours of preserved food from the super Market, local farms and my own gardens. While your taste buds are tingling with food and beverages made from produce that has been alter to last, I will demonstrate how simple this process this.

Hands on displays with dehydrators, wild yeasts, how to ferment fruit into vinegars and wines (sorry no wine or mead tasting) and the challenges people face when starting out.

You really need very little equipment to these things, if you think about it our species has been doing this since before agriculture so for over 5000 yrs!! Let me uncimplicate it for you.

Spices, fruits, vegies, herbs are all in your shopping basket weekly, and you often grab a bargain too Im sure, dont we all. When you buy onions and then go to the spice rack to purchase onion powder... you are doubing up. Its the same thing but ina different form. Onions are cheaper and you can make more than onion powder with them!! Add them to instant soup mixes ready for winter lunches (If they last that long lol)

Spaces are limited due to Clinic size so please book early for this one. If we sell out we will try our hardest to do more within the seasons time frame

    Dehydration, fermentation, pickling, water bathing. My canner is gone to the recycle shop in the sky and on the bucket list for 2023. Canning classes to come but not this time sorry.
